Base Preparation and Compaction
The hidden strength of any paver patio, walkway, driveway, or wall sits in the base. Jeff specifies excavation depth, aggregate types, and compaction in measured lifts so surfaces resist heaving, rutting, and settling, which protects your investment and keeps everything safe under heavy use and freeze-thaw cycles.
Drainage Planning Around Hardscapes
Water that is not directed correctly will undermine even the best installation. We design slopes, drains, and outfalls together with patios, walls, and planting beds so water moves away from foundations and traffic areas, reducing ice, erosion, and basement moisture while keeping the landscape looking clean and intentional.
Freeze-Thaw Detailing at Edges
Edges and joints are the first places Wisconsin winters expose weak construction. We use proper edge restraints, joint sand, and connection details where pavers meet walls, steps, turf, or concrete so movement is controlled, borders stay straight, and surfaces remain tight and even year after year.
